Part of the leadership function of a church growth pastor is to match people with their God-given ministry roles. This is illustrated by a split-level spectrum (Fig. 2). Toward the left of this spectrum, the pastor is the minister. This means the pastor is expected to do just about everything that happens in the church except sit in the pews during the worship service—lead people to Christ, counsel believers who have problems, visit the sick in the hospital and at home, monitor the spiritual life
